ShareTheMeal is an app developed in association with World Food Programme, a humanitarian agency of the United Nations, that allows users to donate the cost of a day’s worth of food to hungry children in developing and crisis-stricken areas. Since launch, ShareTheMeal has provided more than 13 million meals, from Lesotho to Cameroon to South Sudan. Users can currently use the app to share their meals with Syrian children living in refugee camps in Jordan and Lebanon.
This app makes it very easy for users to donate the cost of a day’s food – and in so doing enables users to also contribute very small amounts without feeling guilty about it. But the emotional reward – feeding a child for an entire day – is huge.
