Description

The book is shaped as an oversized box of tarot cards placed in an embossed, gold foil box. Each box contains a deck of bookmarks with illustrations from the book, expanding on the tarot theme. The back cover of the book is coloured by New Orleans – with three versions corresponding to the colours of Mardi Gras (purple-gold-green). The back cover “card” pattern is a combination of French Quarter architecture style (curves of wrought iron balconies) and the Fleur-de-Lis symbol of New Orleans.

Statement of the jury

An extraordinary book project in which not only the beautiful cover illustration refers to its content, but subtly hints at it with the classic shape of tarot cards and the characteristic pattern of the separator pages.
