PENTAX K-1

Description

PENTAX’s first 35-mm full-frame image sensor SLR camera. Emphasizing a camera’s precise and robust features, we fully redesigned a 35-mm SLR camera. With a motif of pentaprism-inclusive body design and the curved penta front part, the SLR-symbolic penta part unifies traditional shapes with modern sensitivity. Mockup-based evaluations for the grip to fit into the users’ hands made us create a superb hold, with a new function dial for settings, usability for quick/ direct function switch and input resulted.

Statement of the jury

The PENTAX K-1 feels like a classic 35 mm SLR camera and fits the hand as one would expect while also providing the performance and functionality of leading edge digital photography.
