Bar Installation

Description

A project commissioned by THOC: The bar is 7 m in length. Identical wooden slats are used, with their narrower sides being painted a light bluish colour. This is repeated on the front façade of the bar. The same piece is repeated 95 times and rotated 360° along the façade. This is where the visual interplay happens. The narrower sides disappear when viewed at 90°. The same happens at 270°.

Statement of the jury

The adroit deployment of wooden slats, combined with coloured edges, creates an intriguing optical effect that makes this bar highly distinctive.
