Description

The trapezoidal shape of the building follows the mountain. Few elements emerge from the slope: the training tower on the north and the white central hall. The so called “Honor Hall” is used for ceremonies to reward brave firemen and to strengthen the spirit of the whole team. The plan is quite complex due to the morphological features of the site. Levels are connected by outdoor corridors and equipped with recreational areas, reading rooms and sport equipment to encourage socialization.

Statement of the jury

The fact that this fire station is a white building in a red building complex creates a strong contrast and renders the station readily recognisable. An interesting design – one that, thanks to its characteristic silhouette, echoes the typical contours of the local mountains.
