Beam

Description

Beam is a bench inspired by the techniques of carpentry with pure and generous proportions. The latter consists of a trunk that is cut in two parts and assembled around metal or wooden feet. The idee is to valorize the wood material through a simple, essential furniture range, where the material can express itself fully. Different configurations are possible: lengths and angles. Indoor or outdoor, with different finishings: natural, oil or burnt, as shou sugi ban.

Statement of the jury

This untreated bench, made of half of a solid wood beam, gives off an exceedingly robust and sturdy appearance. The puristic look is further underscored by the pared-down design idiom and the natural fissures in the wood.
