CFPA – Automotive Technology Center

CFPA – Automotive Technology Center

Description

The multipurpose building is a technology center, research center and an university for automotives. The building contains two program blocks that are associated with two different structural types allowing phased construction. We find the most important element in the design of the main façade, an element of double skin extracted directly from the constructive solution of a car (chassis + bodywork); solving acoustic and thermal requirements applying the “Helmholtz effect” in its design.

Statement of the jury

The large metal elements of this building’s imposing façade, whose design takes its cue from auto technology, lends the building a distinctive character that is accentuated by the various colours used.
