Halo

Description

Halo is designed to create a new and interesting link between the luminaire and its user. There are no obvious controls such as a dimmer or a switch as they are integrated into the design. This means that in order to adjust the brightness the user pulls on the leather strap. Pulling down on the right side turns the luminaire on and the amount of light emitted increases as the strap is pulled further down. To reduce the amount of light and turn the luminaire off the user pulls the strap on the left side.

Statement of the jury

The light can be subtly controlled using the leather strap, allowing the clean design to remain unhampered by visible switches and controls.
