Sensing Spaces – Architecture Reimagined

Sensing Spaces – Architecture Reimagined

Description

SHSH was given the commission for the exhibition and lighting design of the Sensing Spaces at the Royal Academy of Arts in London. In the Central Hall, refreshing translucent textile layers work as an ethereal support for digital projections, fading the classical elements and turning into abstract space. In Grafton’s installations, the dynamic lighting effects demonstrate the movement of sunlight on a winter’s day in London, to ultimately enhance the intensity of the light.

Statement of the jury

The covering of the walls with transparent textiles visually creates calm, while the media projections as well as the structures shimmering through the fabric generates excitement at the same time.
