Dr. Häussermann, Stuttgart

Dr. Häussermann, Stuttgart

Description

In the summer of 2014 the dental practice of Dr. Häussermann opened it’s doors. The curved fully glassed façade in the distinctive Carré circular building accommodates the treatment room and the laboratory. Adapting to the form of the building, “L- shaped” walls are lined up. Free standing cubes which are covered in oak wood form the entrance area. The oak wood serves as a contrast to the black and white remaining fixtures. All design elements emphasize the architectural use of forms.

Statement of the jury

The use of black to create striking contrasts is rather unusual in a dentist’s practice, but in conjunction with the wood it looks very sophisticated and elegant, creating a warm, friendly atmosphere overall. A lovely, distinctive design.
