Art + iBeacons = ART BEEKN – In October 2014 we opened the very first beaconized art gallery in Cologne. Visitors’ smartphones were pinged with information about the exhibits as they approached them. Exclusive content and videos compiled for each piece appeared on the screen of any passing mobile device. Looking at art can sometimes feel like window shopping – you see it, but don’t truly understand. That’s why we used iBeacon technology to explore a brand new way of experiencing art.

ART BEEKN is a useful application of a new technology that expands analog enjoyment of art with a digital information level in a contemporary and extremely convenient fashion.
