Statement of the jury

"The new Drehmo GmbH building has an assembly and loading hall, an automatic high-bay racking system and an administration wing. It is the topographical situation in the Bergisches Land region that inspired the striking layout. The complex features an unusually high fascia under the roof, which meanders around the elements in the form of a band. The homogeneous materiality of the roof volume, supports and parts of the wall cladding, by means of light, expanded aluminium tiles, emphasizes the building’s corporeal quality. An interesting design, which plays with relationships and proportions without being playful."
