Description

The residential and commercial building ELBDECK HAMBURG with 100 high-quality apartments. Three buildings with six or eight upper floors. The underground car park with 280 spaces forms the base, which simultaneously serves as a flotation polish. Offices, dining and retail space on the ground and first floor. The deliberately chosen bright red colour of the brick in a friendly contrast to the bright white plaster surfaces gives the ensemble a Mediterranean flair and always looks cheerful, even on dull days.

Statement of the jury

This building complex consisting of three very high-quality structures exhibits a linear but nonetheless striking design aesthetic that breaks up the design with interesting architectural details. The red brick with white applications typically used in the harbour district render the design all the more distinctive.
