Haus MD

Description

The corner lot site located in a district from the ’30s, inspired the special roof with two gables across the edge. The struture is covered with flat tiles; all openings are precisely harmonized with the bricking. The windows in oak are placed deeply in the soffit or flush with the front. To suit the individual living quarters, floorplans and sections are either two or three story, the heights of the rooms are adjusted to this. For the completion of the interior only a few materials are used.

Statement of the jury

Various large windows and entrances framed with a mixture of flush and recessed oak are scattered on the façade, loosening up its look and lending the building a congenial appearance. Interesting openings and incised elements have also been used along with striking brick cladding that make the building visually arresting.
