La Dogana D’Acqua

La Dogana D’Acqua

Description

A new way of expressing the concept of a historic building. A light building conceived as a kind of glass teak on whose external surface through screen printing with digital printing past architecture has been depicted. In this way, it was possible to rebuild the ancient building only by reproducing, with different materials, the original form and dimensions in the same position as it was before its demolition, no false history but contemporary restoration.

Statement of the jury

This renovated building is endowed with a transparent shell that graphically and subtly echoes the façade of the historic building, whereby the remembrance of what the building once looked like has been retained. An excellent concept that combines past and present in an exciting context and that has been executed intelligently and with outstanding quality.
