Phaze

Description

I love repetition – it is musical, harmonic, ordered, like the motion of exercise. It creates beauty for our eyes, a field of relaxing stimuli. Phaze is an organic, soft, inviting lounge chair that swivels independently or joins side-by-side, interconnecting to create a wave, an undulation of private seating that seduces the eye and envelops the body. I drew Phaze on the plane, thinking about making a form that embraces my philosophy of sensual minimalism and repetition.

Statement of the jury

This extraordinary armchair practically lets the sitter sink into it. A refreshing, youthful piece of lounge furniture that works wonderfully as part of a larger arrangement or on its own.
