Puli Garden

Description

This previously undeveloped plot has now been privately developed. The owner of the property is the client who longed for his hometown which he had been forced to leave during the Second World War. On the basis of the client’s experience and feeling from war and his desire to seek a childhood memory, the designer has brought into existence a Chinese-style courtyard presenting the strong desire for his home town situated in China.

Statement of the jury

The atmosphere created by traditional Chinese landscape architecture radiates across all seasons a high degree of tranquillity and harmony and allows for lovely views from the building’s interior.
