House Rheder II

House Rheder II

Description

On an idyllic piece of land a retreat was built which allows nature to perform in and around it and in which the fundamental elements are tangible. The house appears light and graceful – almost invisible – reduction generates quality. Quality of nature, light, air, tranquility and space for thought.

Statement of the jury

The all-glass facades, which replaced most of the outer walls, allow the building’s interior to blend in with the surrounding nature conservation area. Thanks to the clear, minimalist design aesthetic of this project, the attention of occupants is mainly focused on the surrounding natural environment – an effect that is accentuated by the use of a considerable amount of wood in the interior. A lovely building that radiates great tranquillity and that promotes quality rest and relaxation.
