Description

A building in the listed area of Munich-Schwabing, in which the qualities of one of Munich’s most popular residential districts were translated into a contemporary architectural language. The impressive structural elements of the surrounding historic buildings were subjected to a transformation process and find new expression in abstraction. The high energy standard in the living space is ensured by a prefabricated façade element, which is derived from the edgings in the environment.

Statement of the jury

This design, with its window-height dormers, forms a link between historical architectural elements and a modern design aesthetic. An elegant design that is notable for its formal clarity, which is carried over to the interior.
