Sparkasse Bayreuth

Sparkasse Bayreuth

Description

The upper floors of the five-story building with patio are turned slightly out of alignment and has a reference to the surrounding reference lines and elevations. The appearance characterized by a monolithic sandstone façade refers particularly to the city and the noblesse and reserved characterized construction culture. The construction of the rear side ventilated sandstone facade with mineral thermal insulation panels follows the thought of sustainability.

Statement of the jury

The slightly protruding and rotated levels of this design loosen up what would otherwise be a severely cubic design aesthetic. At the same time, the building makes an intelligent nod to the various heights of the surrounding buildings. The corporate-red awnings are an exquisite detail.
