BENSELER – Fertigungsstätte

Description

The new manufacturing plant for thin layer corrosion protection systems in Lüdenscheid combines all production, support, technology, chemistry, storage, logistics, delivery and office areas into a single unit measuring 104 x 96 m and with a total area of 11,200 sqm. Just like the neighbouring highway, the white façade band mirrors the changing height and width on the outside as its dynamic counterpart. This consolidates all functional units into a self-contained entity.

Statement of the jury

This almost square structure features a striking façade that is notable for its circumferential white band. A beautiful and successfully implemented concept that endows the building with a dynamic modernistic look and that is also carried over to the building’s interior design.
