X Bridge

Description

The structure is formed by the main and secondary trusses, which are joined innovatively together in an X-shape to support each other to ensure the stability and strength of the whole structure. The walking deck is right on the lower chord of the trusses, the trusses are also the side interface of safety rail; the variation of the sectional area of truss elements truly reflects their resistant forces. A new exciting walking experience is gained by the highly integrated design of structure, space and interface.

Statement of the jury

The X Bridge is named after its succinct architecture whereby two structures – namely the bridge and a staircase – cross each other’s paths in such a way that they support each other – a solution that renders the entire bridge stable.
