Wartestation Rüschlikon

Description

Modernisation of a lakeside facility in the municipality of Rüschlikon, Switzerland. The new facility by the landing stage was intended to become an appealing landmark for Rüschlikon and to help create a sense of identity for the local population. The water feature provides a harmonious addition to the station and frames the spacious facility’s area; it is particularly appealing for children.

Statement of the jury

The striking design for the Rüschlikon Waiting Station unites retro architecture with a contemporary stylistic idiom in an organic design that recalls a water lily pad and thus engages in dialogue with the adjacent lake. A lovely, very aesthetic design with high recognisability.
