Xiangshawan Desert Lotus Hotel

Description

Lotus Resort is part of the Xiangshawan Desert development, to be built in the Kubuqi Area, China. As our core concept, the traditional Chinese philosophy of “Zhen” has been celebrated in the design, which means replicating the identical. From simple rotations of squares, a delicate series of triangles that accentuate the visual appearance are created. The form is also a result from the integration of structures, passive design strategies and functions into the architectural design.

Statement of the jury

The signature structure of this desert resort is derived from elements that are systematically repeated and superimposed on each other’s centres – and thus resemble a slightly rotated awning. An intriguing design that both iconic and beautiful.
