Description

Our holistic concept for the new ZDFmediathek bridges the gap between linear and non-linear TV, progressively incorporating innovations such as content on-demand and personalization, as well as transmedia formats and social media. It helps ZDF hold its own against video-on-demand portals and other broadcasters in this market. The concept strengthens all the aspects that ZDF has traditionally stood for as a brand and an institution: classic TV and the unifying experience of viewing programmes.

Statement of the jury

This media library is notable for its clearly configured and user-friendly design that enables users to find and access the library’s linear and non-linear content easily. The library is also set up in such a way that registered marks are always readily recognisable.
