The Westin Elbphilharmonie
Description
The design of the hotel The Westin in the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg derives its influence on the one hand from the particular location of the building at the top of the Sandtor Harbor in the HafenCity Hamburg and on the other from the extraordinary architecture of the architects Herzog & de Meuron. The Berlin-based designer Tassilo Bost is responsible for the interior design concept of the entire hotel with all rooms, public areas and SPA. The theme is the resting place in the busy harbour.
Statement of the jury
This elegant design, which was influenced by the exposed site of the Elbphilharmonie concert hall, is carried over to all areas of the hotel, which it endows with a distinctive character and cosmopolitan atmosphere with a maritime feeling.
