UFO / Original Range Hood

UFO / Original Range Hood

Description

Air flow is controlled by the left and right-side wings (louvers) of the range hood, and a structure for efficient air intake is created by sucking air in from the bottom of both sides to the side. The reason the ends of the canopy are tilted downward is because it is more efficient to suck in air from the bottom sides of the range hood. In addition, the reason for the curved surface is that eliminating corners makes for smoother air flow.

Statement of the jury

The UFO is a new type of extractor hood featuring an arresting design that suctions out the damp from the sides rather than from the middle. The resulting lines and design aesthetic, with their rounded edges, are intriguing and can be said to have completely reinvented the extractor hood.
