Ventilation Shaft

Description

As part of the Montforthaus wayfinding system, we were asked to record a ventilation shaft in front of the new building designed by Mitiska Wäger Architects. With funny and joyful illustrations we made a graphical intervention to enliven the public space at Leonhardsplatz and an urban zone of interaction. A couple in love is embracing each other below an umbrella, while a cow licks someone’s shoulder and a fish tries to catch a guy.

Statement of the jury

The inventive design of this ventilation shaft combines seating with simple graphics that people using the seating can interact with – thus leading to humorous situations for users. A superb idea that has been intelligently executed and that is a terrific mood enhancer.
