The Cologne sneaker store The Good Will Out partnered with the adidas Consortium to deliver a new version of the NMD CS1. The shoe is a contemporary homage to the covert agents of feudal Japan, the Shinobi. Tasked with espionage and assassination, they possessed a legendary technique called Ankoku Toshi Jutsu, which allowed them to see in complete darkness. Following the inspirational source of the NMD CS1, we’ve created a holistic product launch including website, movie and branded content.


Statement of the jury

This exceptional website, which was inspired by a ninja called Shinobi, was intended for the product launch of NMD CS1 sneakers. Right from the start, the site’s audio and visuals capture the visitor’s attention, immersing him or her in a mysterious world of peace and concentration. The site creates a narrative context for running shoes, a meditative and holistic product presentation of a fascinating product history – and ultimately engenders identification with the narrative and the shoes. The site has many virtues: it is highly immersive; it is extremely well made; it is simple and intuitive; and thanks to its streamlined navigation, the user can explore the site with minimal clicking; and perhaps most important of all, the advertising message is conveyed in a highly plausible fashion.
