Haus F.

Haus F.

Description

To accentuate the brickwork, the minimalist structure does without conventional details such as parapet plates and window sills. Nearly closed off from the outside, the visual focus is concentrated on the brick, while the building is open and flooded with light from the inside. The outside clarity of the structure is supported by reduced materiality: oak floorboards and anthracite concrete on the floor, as well as the rough apperance of exposed concrete ceilings, enhance the characteristic of the structure.

Statement of the jury

The design systematically celebrates the red brick down to the smallest detail, resulting in a special visual clarity in the building’s architecture.
