Description

»Partially earth-bound, appearing to float above the lake, the Schondorfer boat houses have a strong formal power. Their rough materiality, simple use of forms and stretched proportions inspired the design, and serve to connect the new building to the rural setting.« A tall and »relaxed« wooden house stands on a massive surface planted with greenery. The roughly cut wooden cladding is a reference to the roughness of the boat houses, and paraphrases the characteristic materiality of the »Upper Bavarian« building tradition.
