Villa Pedemontana In Pietra

Villa Pedemontana In Pietra

Description

Spaces in the villa are conceived around the main idea of connected rooms, according to the inspirational principles of traditional Japanese architecture. Open spaces are linked together and connected by the main corridor, which cuts across them like a spine: a guest, arriving from outside, walks through the house from more public to more private, intimate and sensitive areas. In the villa, few materials have been used: dark wood and concrete, along with white surfaces.

Statement of the jury

An excellent design whose straightforward forms and generous proportions represent a stylish take on the principles of traditional Japanese architecture, which is further emphasised through the use of dark wood, concrete and white.
