Description

Single-family homes are considered the most attractive form of living in Germany and across most parts of the world. The related urban sprawl is leading to severe traffic congestion, infrastructure problems and increased destruction of the landscape. High-quality concentration is a strategy for correcting these disadvantages. The aim was to erect a residential building which has a high residential density, but does not lose the quality of living of a single-family home with a garden and garage.

Statement of the jury

This special architecture presents the individual living units as modern family homes to the viewer, but also fulfils the function of a high-quality densification that aims to reduce the impact on the environment. An interesting concept that was solved brilliantly in a formal and functional way.
