Description

The listed monument has been converted into seven residential apartments which will be rented out in a furnished state for a short time. The respectful handling of existing, often elaborately decorated walls, ceilings and floors; dovetailing of old and new structures and furniture; sensitive use of materials and their surfaces; and the sophisticated orchestrating of artificial and natural light has all contributed to the unique character of this castle after the extensive remodelling project.

Statement of the jury

The seven furnished living units were delicately integrated into the historical listed castle buildings. The challenge of combining historical details with modern architecture and sophisticated interior design was handled respectfully and carried out to a high technical and creative standard. The result is a collection of extremely modern, high-quality apartments.
