Tennis

Tennis

Description

With Tennis, Fischer Möbel created a design breakthrough for garden furniture in 1990: a mix of teak, stainless steel and polyester fabric, plus a new adjustment mechanism that makes the armchair adjustable in three positions: upright sitting, relaxed sitting and a reclining position. The patented design by Kurt Ranger dates back to 1981. Awarded for its design in 1992 by the Design Center Stuttgart, Tennis became a bestseller, with continuing success until today.

Statement of the jury

When it comes to timelessly elegant, sporty design, the folding Tennis garden chair is an excellent example. With its clear, functional design language, high-quality materials, intelligent folding and adjustment mechanism and high level of sitting comfort, the design has lasted several decades. And it will probably live on for several more.
