»PAONA – surf inspired mobility for the next generation. »Let’s give kids the feeling and fun of surfing!« This dream was realized by European Surf Champion Tao Schirrmacher and an international R&D team. With a clear mission: »Surf the Streets«. The PaoFlip is dynamic and agile like a surfboard or a skateboard. At the same time it is stable and safe like a scooter. Can be opened in seconds and kids can surf on urban playgrounds.

Statement of the jury

The brand name PAONA comes from Hawaiian and describes balancing while surfing. The form and function of the PaoFlip children’s scooter were designed in precisely this spirit. »Surf the Streets« is the fitting concept behind the brand and its products, which not only make children’s hearts pound, but also those of their parents. With a handlebar that is reminiscent of a windsurfer’s boom, the polymer axle for playful turns and high-quality ball bearings, the characteristic design offers a new kind of ride and exhibits all the qualities that a well thought-out piece of sports equipment should. Here it was possible to meld surfing and skating together. Cool in every way!
