Penthouse V

Penthouse V

Description

In the course of the renovation of the cinema in Pörtschach, parts of the roof truss were raised to make room for a spacious penthouse. This 250 sqm apartment has become the holiday home for a family of seven. The design concept is inspired by structures, textures and the dynamics of roofscapes. It also pays tribute to a specific feature of Austrian post-war architecture by incorporating milled eternit façade panels as furniture fronts far beyond the central kitchen area.

Statement of the jury

The minimalist furnishing concept, with its distinctive surfaces made of white and grey Eternit façade panels, lends the interior an interesting aesthetic, which comes across particularly well in the high, open space. All in all, a modern, elegant and high-quality design.
