4Courts Park

Description

The park was opened on 19 September 2014. It was built on the site of the former military area. Considering the geological conditions of the area – clay soil which suffocates new plants that have not been pre-cultivated in these conditions – the main concept of dealing with vegetation that was chosen was the principle of directed succession. The park was designed as the entrance into the landscape. 4Courts Park does not delimit itself from the landscape but gradually merges into it.

Statement of the jury

The park offers numerous stations for different leisure activities. The bridge that extends over the underground café and forms the pretty entrance into the park’s landscape is simply beautiful. A beautiful and natural-looking concept that promises a great opportunity to relax.
