Bolshevik Factory Moscow – Courtyard

Description

A heritage-protected confectionery factory has been transformed into offices and high-quality apartments. In the courtyard of the living quarters, a representative accommodation area has been created. Four planted Dancing Squares invite you to sit on the raised concrete edging, contrasting with planting strips that soften the fire entrance. A fifth square is a playground with a ball of laminated timber with a rope net. The motif of the Dancing Squares continues in the natural stone pavement.

Statement of the jury

The five squares structure the inner courtyard. With their plantings, spherical jungle gym and seating areas, they form an attractive and protected area in which to while away the time.
