The focus of the planning for the communal indoor swimming pool was to create a well-designed building with maximum quality of stay, which also impresses from the point of view of economy and sustainability. The exterior of the compact building structure appears plain while the interior is infused with a vibrant, bright and friendly atmosphere. This is ensured by generous glazing and wood as the central construction and design elements.

Statement of the jury

The two slightly-overlapping volumes of glass and concrete give the swimming pool a distinctive design that immediately catches the eye. Daylight can enter from all sides and along with the modern ambience, high quality materials and functional well-designed details, provides a high standard of accommodation. A contemporary, functional and sustainable building.
