TAICHUNG CENTRAL PARK

Description

Central Park explores the lithosphere – water, topography, soil – combined with atmosphere – heat, humidity, pollution. An overlapping map organises a range of landscape, distributing more comfortable »niches«. The atmosphere performance is emphasised by the lithosphere resources. Topographic movement develops continuity and captures rain water to nourish the water table. The phytoremediation filters the district waste water before it arrives at the river.

Statement of the jury

The design for the park takes into account not only soil conditions, but also climatic conditions. The energy needed to clean the environment and light the park comes from solar panels.
