Baiamuri

Baiamuri

Description

It’s a seasonal seaside facility, harmoniously integrated into the Sicilian coast of Baia Morghella. It’s conceived as a marine home, an organism that fluctuates between the rocks of the bay, created by a combination of natural materials and organic forms defining open spaces towards the surroundings. Aged wood remembers driftwood, rope clamps evoke ancient ligation techniques; the Poseidonia dried on the shoreline after the high tide, inhabits the ceilings with the use of the exotic makuti.

Statement of the jury

Thanks to the use of natural materials such as wood and dried seagrass, the simple structure with its terrace blends harmoniously into an environment shaped by sea, beaches and sand dunes, evoking an authentic sense of maritime calm and serenity.
