Tabalugahouse Jägersbrunn

Tabalugahouse Jägersbrunn

Description

In 2011, the old youth hostel in Jägersbrunn was converted into the Tabalugahouse of the Peter Maffay Foundation and was completely remodelled. Since then, traumatised children and teenagers may spend a holiday week. An old and ailing summer house from the 60s was situated beside the refurbished main building. During the renovation of the main building, WSM Architekten, on their own initiative, designed a courageous and modern construction in wood as a replacement for this old summer house.

Statement of the jury

The elegantly-proportioned 60s-style house provides plenty of space and looks bright and friendly with its large window fronts and open-plan rooms. The distinctive wooden construction adopts the brick finish typical of the 60s and gives the bungalow a unique identity.
