A new brand for Vienna, the world’s most liveable city
Vienna set Saffron the challenge of developing a brand strategy and visual identity that could better serve residents and city employees. The new brand has streamlines 70+ departments under a monolithic brand architecture and clarifies communications. The identity reflects the city’s personality through iconography, typography and imagery. With costs expected to amortize within 2 years, the project provides real value for taxpayers.
Statement of the jury
The new appearance reflects the characteristic features of the town with its residents, traditions and cultural diversity in an authentic way. The clear design looks appealing, fresh, contemporary and overall very friendly – together with the imagery and text. The distinctive text, based on the form of a coat of arms, is a perfect complement to the image and therefore contributes significantly to the brand identity.
