Description

The goal: to reconcile the philosophy of the nature-loving, alpine cuisine with the new design. For instance, we used the 19th century floor found in the attic, renovated the wonderful ceiling ornaments and installed a lamp reminiscent of a bouquet of tulips. Curved partitions made of ash wood serve as an eye-catcher whilst adding privacy. The heart of this extraordinary restaurant is the show kitchen or »stage« with its working surfaces made of rainforest green marble.

Statement of the jury

With sophistication and craftsmanship, the design transported the exclusive character of the historical portfolio architecture from the Wilhelminian era into the contemporary here and now and in doing so perfectly fulfilled the requirements for regionality and closeness to nature.
