The Rebuilding Project of Toyama Bank-Japan Local Bank’s Head Office

The Rebuilding Project of Toyama Bank-Japan Local Bank’s Head Office

Description

The underlying concept of this project is tradition and innovation. With that in mind, when reflecting on the purposes of having physical offices in the future, one such purpose is to use the interior design to depict the bank as a symbolic structure in the neighborhood. The other purpose is to directly convey the bank’s company message to its community and customers to allow people to rediscover the bank.

Statement of the jury

The design translates elements of traditional Japanese culture and architecture into a modern aesthetic, which stands out due to its contrasting interplay with curved and straight lines, patterns and colours, light and shade. The result is an interior that is as striking as it is prestigious, which at the same time looks extremely reliable, elegant and sophisticated.
