Light Installations for the Beethoven-Year 2020

Description

The installations symbolise Beethoven’s life in Bonn, his journey from the town and out into the world. The light objects are distributed around the urban space so that they function as an exhibition. The audience is invited to walk from installation to installation. The short days in December form the stage for our illumination of the urban space. The pictures from Bonn go out into the world. At the same time it is shown that Beethoven’s musical work is present in the world.

Statement of the jury

The light installations distributed across the city draw a lot of attention. With their modern aesthetics, the individual objects bring the historic personality into the international present and in this way indicate the timeless quality of the musical work that to this day fascinates people around the world.
