Zalaba has chosen to take on the legacy of her grandfather and reshape it in her own way. Through the use of high-grade materials combined with sleek industrial design Zalaba produces furniture for a lifetime. The pieces of the Aisuu Collection are minimal and as light as air. Her main source of inspiration was Otto Kolb’s prototype from 1950, which was sufficiently eye-catching and therefore featured in an early Playboy Magazine.

Statement of the jury

The graphic clarity of the chair, defined by filigree lines and surfaces, is impressive. A timeless, elegant design, which can be harmoniously integrated in many a modern interior, all the while discreetly receding into it.
