Description

The ruinous agrarian and housing ensemble is transformed into a place of leisure. The hierarchy of the previous programmatic disposition is eliminated through an extensive reconstruction, while the composition of the 3 existing volumes is preserved. New structures of Mediterranean origin (pergola, outdoor fireplace, garden pavilion, entrance court) are added and with the surrounding wall they form small agglomerate.

Statement of the jury

The concept combines the traditional building methods with the latest in modern architecture to create an elegant concept that promises a high quality of accommodation. The way the modern door and window openings are integrated into the archaic natural stone facade through their chamfered scuncheons and dark shutters was also executed in a very elegant manner.
