Description

For the catalogue 2015/2016 of the publishing house Hermann Schmidt, its lovely books have been given a stage, built out of what they are made of – beautiful paper. With kind support from Fedrigoni Papers, multiple scenes were created out of blank papersheets, in a range of colours and qualities, and photographed for 80 publications. The result is a surprisingly diverse catalogue, produced out of a love for materiality, just like all other books of Verlag Hermann Schmidt.

Statement of the jury

With its meticulous design and the ingenious depiction of the books on the finest of papers, the catalog reflects the high quality of the publications down to the tiniest detail. A lovely idea was cleanly and consistently implemented in terms of design.
